Terms & Conditions
Introduction
Welcome to Book Clarity, your trusted partner in bringing your literary vision to the world
through professional editing, coaching, and publishing services. By accessing our website
and engaging with our consulting services, you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions
outlined in this comprehensive document. Our primary goal is to provide authors with
transparent, high-quality editorial support while establishing clear expectations for our
collaborative journey. These terms govern all interactions, manuscript evaluations, and
publishing agreements facilitated through our platform and designated communication
channels. We encourage all authors to thoroughly review these provisions before submitting
their work or scheduling a consultation with our editorial team. Our commitment is to
maintain a professional, secure, and creatively fulfilling environment for every writer who
chooses to partner with us. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, we kindly ask
that you refrain from utilizing our consulting and publishing services. We reserve the right
to update these terms periodically to reflect changes in industry standards and our
operational procedures.
Publishing Services Scope
Book Clarity offers a diverse range of specialized publishing services, including structural
editing, ghostwriting, cover design, and formatting for fiction, business, self-help,
memoir, educational, and children's books. The specific scope of work for your manuscript
will be determined during your initial consultation and formally outlined in a customized
project agreement. Our team is dedicated to preserving your unique narrative voice while
elevating your manuscript to meet rigorous industry standards and market expectations. We do
not guarantee bestseller status, specific sales figures, or traditional publishing
contracts, as the literary market is highly subjective and unpredictable. Instead, we
guarantee the delivery of a professionally polished, market-ready book that reflects our
highest editorial and design capabilities. Any additional services requested outside the
original scope of your project agreement will be subject to further discussion and
supplementary billing. We strive to provide accurate estimates for all project deliverables,
but the dynamic nature of creative writing means that occasional adjustments may be
necessary to ensure the best possible final product.
Author Intellectual Property Rights
At Book Clarity, we profoundly respect your creative ownership and unequivocally state that
you retain one hundred percent of the intellectual property rights to your original
manuscript. Our role is strictly that of a service provider and publishing consultant,
meaning we do not claim any copyright, royalty shares, or permanent distribution rights over
your finished book. All ideas, characters, frameworks, and personal stories shared with our
editorial team remain your exclusive property throughout the entire editing and publishing
process. Upon the successful completion of your project and the settlement of all associated
invoices, we transfer all final formatted files and custom cover designs directly to you for
your independent use. You are solely responsible for ensuring that your submitted manuscript
does not infringe upon the copyrights, trademarks, or intellectual property of any third
party. We reserve the right to refuse service for any manuscript that contains plagiarized
material, hate speech, or content that violates established legal guidelines. Your peace of
mind regarding your creative work is our top priority, and we maintain strict
confidentiality regarding all unpublished materials submitted to our agency.
Manuscript Submission
When submitting your manuscript or project outline to Book Clarity for evaluation, authors
must ensure the material is their own original work and is formatted according to our
standard submission guidelines. We accept documents primarily in standard word processing
formats to facilitate seamless review and editing by our dedicated coaching team. Authors
must provide accurate and complete information during the submission process to help us
accurately assess the scope, genre, and necessary editorial interventions for the project.
We are not responsible for the loss or corruption of any files submitted through our contact
forms, and we strongly advise all authors to maintain secure backups of their original
manuscripts. Our team conducts an initial review of all submissions to determine if the
project aligns with our expertise and current editorial capacity before offering a formal
consultation. We maintain the right to decline any project that falls outside our service
capabilities or conflicts with our agency's ethical publishing standards. All communication
regarding your submission will be conducted professionally through our official email
channels to ensure a documented and transparent process.
Editing and Revisions
The editing journey at Book Clarity is a highly collaborative process designed to refine
your manuscript through multiple structured rounds of feedback, revision, and professional
polishing. We provide comprehensive developmental edits, line edits, and proofreading based
on the specific needs identified during your consultation and outlined in your service
agreement. Authors are expected to engage actively with the editorial feedback, reviewing
suggestions promptly to keep the project moving forward according to the established
timeline. We aim to preserve your authentic authorial voice while correcting structural
inconsistencies, grammatical errors, and pacing issues that could detract from the reader's
experience. Once a specific editing phase is formally approved by the author, any subsequent
requests to revisit or substantially rewrite those sections may incur additional editorial
fees. Final proofreading is conducted with the utmost diligence, but authors hold the
ultimate responsibility for reviewing and approving the final manuscript before it proceeds
to formatting and publication. Our commitment is to deliver a flawless manuscript, but the
subjective nature of writing means that artistic differences are resolved through respectful
dialogue and mutual agreement.
Payment & Consultation
All pricing for Book Clarity's publishing, editing, and design services is highly customized
based on the word count, complexity, and specific requirements of your manuscript. Following
your initial consultation, we will provide a detailed, transparent proposal outlining the
total cost of your project with no hidden fees or unexpected charges. Payments are typically
structured in manageable installments, with a required deposit to commence work and
subsequent milestones tied to the delivery of specific editorial or design phases. We accept
payments through secure, industry-standard invoicing systems to ensure all financial
transactions are safe, documented, and easily trackable for your records. In the event that
a project is paused or canceled by the author after work has commenced, Book Clarity retains
the right to bill for all services rendered up to the date of cancellation. Any delays in
scheduled payments may result in a corresponding pause in editorial work until the account
balance is brought current. We believe in complete financial transparency, ensuring that you
understand the exact value and cost of our professional publishing guidance before we begin
our collaboration.
Project Timelines
Book Clarity is committed to delivering your edited manuscript, cover design, and formatted
files within the estimated timelines discussed during your consultation and detailed in your
agreement. However, the book publishing process is inherently creative and collaborative,
meaning that timelines are occasionally subject to adjustments based on the depth of
revisions required. We rely on timely communication and prompt feedback from our authors to
maintain momentum, and any delays in reviewing editorial notes may correspondingly extend
the final completion date. In the rare event of unforeseen circumstances affecting our
editorial team, we will communicate any potential schedule changes to you immediately and
work diligently to minimize disruptions. We do not accept liability for any external
deadlines, such as scheduled book launch events or marketing campaigns, that are impacted by
standard adjustments to the editorial timeline. Our primary focus is always on the quality
of the final book rather than rushing the creative process to meet arbitrary deadlines. By
working together transparently, we ensure that the journey from rough draft to published
book is as smooth, efficient, and rewarding as possible.
Limitation of Liability
While Book Clarity strives to provide exceptional coaching, editing, and formatting
services, our liability in connection with any project is strictly limited to the total
amount paid by the author for those specific services. We cannot be held responsible for the
market performance, public reception, or financial success of your published book, as these
factors are entirely dependent on external market forces and reader preferences. Our team
provides industry-standard advice and professional guidance, but the author assumes all
responsibility for the final content, factual accuracy, and legal compliance of their
published work. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
arising from the use of our services, including lost profits or missed professional
opportunities. Authors are solely responsible for securing any necessary permissions for
quoted material, referenced artworks, or third-party intellectual property included within
their manuscript. Our editorial review process does not constitute legal advice, and authors
should seek independent legal counsel regarding copyright, defamation, or other specialized
legal matters related to their book. This limitation of liability forms a fundamental part
of our agreement, allowing us to offer premium publishing support at accessible and
competitive rates.
